In the absence of both oxygen and sulphur, iron will form elemental native iron.
Compared with such siderophiles as gold and platinum, native iron is both extremely rare and chemically unstable, and will readily oxidize at its contact with the atmosphere.
Terrestrial native iron does occur, but most native iron in geological collections will be in meteorites.
